Nothing but class here at the Dupe house, even while enjoying a bonfire in the yard. This last week we busted out our newly borrowed fire bowl and enjoyed a few roasted marshmallows and even starbursts in our back yard.
Yay for fire!

Badmitton

We set up our badmitton net last night. During an intense rally, Britta swung a little too hard and the shuttlecock flew on the roof. We thought of fashioning some sort of poking device, but we don't have any duct tape. So, next best thing, we threw the kickball at it. I hope the neighbors don't hate us.

Lisa gave it a few shots, grandma style.

Then we got a better idea.

Kelly thinks we're ridiculous. And we are!
Tonight, we made up a couple of new drinking games... one being Beer Badmitton.

Recycling Day

Today, we missed recycling day for the second time in a row (and they only come around every other week). Our pile is getting out of hand.

Family Day

On Sunday, we had brunch at our house with our families... breakfast burritos, yum! We have lots of left overs (ie. two dozen eggs and 20 tortillas), so we're thinking about having a follow up "breakfast for dinner" party. That, or anybody can just come over and eat this stuff.

SAVE THE BEES!!!

Ok, so this is my new "issue of interest" (of course that doesn't mean I have forgotten about Global Warming...)

Anyway, have you heard of this? Apparently, the bees are in trouble! I first heard about this last week on the news but now Bill Maher is talking about it on Jay Leno. Something is causing the poor bees to loose their sense of direction so they can't find their way home...so they starve to death! This seriously breaks my heart! I'm so sad for the poor bees!!! One theory is that cell phones are to blame. (read the article). But they don't really know 100% yet, but it doesn't even matter because SOMETHING is killing these poor bees. And do you know what it means for the rest of us when all the bees are dead? We are dead too! When the bees die, our crops will die, therefore we will have no food and the world will starve to death. Apparently Eisntein even said that if all the bees die, it will only take four years for us to run out of food and die too.

So, yeah. I'm sad because the bees are getting lost from their hives and dying. And I am worried that we will all die in four years too. (oh, and Britta found a dead bee in her room yesterday...we think it must have gotten lost and starved to death)

Here is another article...I think this one is even better than the first one.

The Grand Opening

The Dupe is officially warmed. It was fun to see all of our favorite people (especially all of those that traveled far) and of course... the dress up clothes showed up about halfway through the night. Dancing is just more fun with something hideous wrapped around ya.

To all of those that attended: Way to break in the place! It took a while to air it out in the morning... but it feels more like a home now.

Please come back again!

PS - Does anybody remember bleeding near Lisa's left thigh that night?

Welcome Home!
